Josh

Josh joined FBS in 2013 as a member of the CPR team where he enjoys working on conversions, doing member training, and documenting new features in Flexmls. Over the past 12 years he has lived in Texas, Mississippi, Louisiana, and Washington, D.C and North Dakota. Although he recently moved to Texas, Josh considers himself an honorary southerner and enjoys attending anvil shoots, crawfish boils, and using the word y’all with impunity.

Do you want to search for listings in a county, but exclude a particular town? Watch this quick video and learn how to create a search that excludes specific fields.

In this video, we’ll look at how to exclude items from a search when using the quick search. For example, in the Fargo Moorhead MLS, maybe I’d like to include all listings in West Fargo except for two specific map areas. First, I’ll enter the location that I’d like to include, West Fargo.

Then I’ll go to map area. Since there is a see all option in this example, I’ll click on it. Then I’ll select the map areas I’d like to exclude. In this example, I’ll exclude e one and e five.

Click on finished when you’ve made your selections. In order to exclude these map areas, I’ll go to the search template and click on the word of next to the map area.

It will change to not of, And now e one and e five have been excluded from my search results.

I can do this process for almost any field on the search template, but many realtors find this feature especially useful when searching locations such as city, zip codes, counties, areas, and subdivisions.
