Good morning, Flexmls users, and welcome to a webinar highlighting the various areas to get help in Flexmls. My name is Amy Long, and I am your Flexmls trainer. Today’s webinar is intended to be a very quick coffee break style webinar, meaning it shouldn’t take too much of your time. Today I join you from Fargo, North Dakota on a snowy and cold October morning. You heard me correct.
We’ve got snow coming in, which I’m a little not really happy about. It’s a little too early in the year for us to start doing that, the season anyway. But wherever you are, I hope the sun is shining and you have a bit better weather. So today we’re gonna cover the areas in Flexmls where you can access help. I am using a training account in the Fargo Moorhead MLS.
And while the setup might be a little different from your MLS, the options for help will be the same. So we’re gonna get started with Guided Help. Guided Help is an interactive help tool.
After that, we’re gonna move on to help options under help, such as how to contact support, how to access the video training library and search for videos, the availability of features and training materials in FlexMLOS Academy, and then help. Flexmls dot com. So it’s all about help today.
So I’m gonna exit out of here and we’re going to pop on over to Flexmls. And I’m opened up to my quick search right now. And the first thing that I want to talk about is Guided Help. And Guided Help is awesome if you have not had an opportunity to use it.
Guided Help is located in several places throughout the system, but mainly it is located just to the right of the quick launch bar and you’ll notice guided help. A few other areas you will notice, these little circles that you may see as an example, next to property type in quick search, down in the map toolbar, you see another one.
And these are shortcuts to guided help. So these little shortcuts, now that I’ve referenced them, hopefully you’ll keep them in mind.
And at various areas when you’re working in the system, if you click on these shortcuts, you’ll be taken to, you’ll be, not taken to, that’s probably not the best way to describe, but you’ll be guided through whichever process you’re trying to accomplish.
So down below, if we were working in our maps and our toolbars and creating shapes, drawing a polygon possibly, or saving it as a map overlay, you would get assistance via guided help on how to do that. So let’s go up to guided help and I’ll walk you through a little bit of how this will work. So you have the option to type in keyword search.
If you’re not quite sure what you’re looking for or what you need help with, you can type in the search bar. But I’m gonna talk about getting started. Let’s start, talk about getting started. And I’m gonna click on this plus button. And whenever you see this little blue hand, which my mouse becomes the shape of a hand when I hover over this.
This indicates that this is a guided help feature. So I’m gonna get started, let’s say our, just with Flexmls navigation right here. I’m gonna click on this and you will notice that a new window will kind of populate in the middle of your screen. And while it might be a little bit hard to read, I can try and increase the size of my screen just a bit, blow that up a little bit.
But you read the content in the screen, click next, and this will guide you through the steps on what you are trying to accomplish. So as an example, if you wanted to start a CMA, there is guided help for conducting a CMA.
As I mentioned, there is guided help available for using map tools, using quick search and so forth.
So you would just continue to follow the prompts and the guided help feature will walk you through step by step of how to conduct the process that you are working on. So I’m going to hop out of here now. And I’ll try and move my screen back just a bit. Not quite so big.
And you can rate it if you have any tips or suggestions or you run into any sort of issue, please let us know. We are constantly working to improve and update the health features in the system to make them as relevant and current as possible. So if you do run into an issue, we absolutely would like to know and we would like to be able to address that.
The next area I would like to cover is our help area. And you will find help kind of in the same area as guided help, just a little further down the screen. And I’m working on a fairly large screen, so I don’t know if you can tell that by this demonstration or not. But I’m just gonna click on the little chevron next to help.
And I will go over all of these options in just a moment, but I’m just gonna highlight them in the beginning. So we have help with this page. Help with this page typically will, the system will know where you are in the system working and be able to help you with regard to that particular page or that particular function. Flexmls help, we’ll get there in just a couple of minutes.
The Flexmls Academy. Video training, this is where we will find all our previously recorded training videos, webinars that we’ve offered, some varying lengths. I’ll open that in just a moment. And then of course contacting support. So first I’ll start with support.
Now, on what your MLS, which MLS you are in, that will depend a little bit on the options you have available. But I will mention that emailing support is a really great feature. If you’re working and you’re hoping just to get a response fairly quickly, our support team is truly wonderful. They are very prompt. They will get back to you as quickly as possible.
Certainly contact via phone, or you can view a list of frequently asked questions and see if you can field an answer via frequently asked questions. So I’ll close this for now. I do just wanna reference also that you have the ability instead of having this little window that pops up in the middle of your screen, possibly taking away of the work that you’re conducting in the system, you have the option to open this in a new tab as well.
And just maybe favorite that or keep it up just depending on what your needs are. So I’ll close this for now. I’m gonna head back to help. And I’m gonna talk about help with this page. So right now I’m on the desktop.
And when I click on help with this page, the system also knows that I’m on the dashboard, excuse me, not the desktop. Flexible as a dashboard. So all the features that are available when we are working in the dashboard, such as the menu. Menu is located towards the left hand side of your screen. This is where you will find all the functions.
You can learn how to favorite those functions, put them in your favorites bar by clicking on the star. You can reorder those functions with the reorder button on the right.
There’s also help which I’m referencing as I go through this currently. The quick launch bar, this is kind of what I like to call the Google of Flexmls, where you can enter a portion of an address.
You can enter an full address, possibly street name, a contact name, and the system will pull all the relevant information that is available.
MLS dashboard, home dashboard, as you can have multiple dashboards in the Flexmls system. This feature will walk you through how to make any changes or how to use these functions. So I just wanna reference this. If I were to switch screens, maybe I’m going to hop into the QuickSearch, go back up to help and click on help with this page. Now the system knows that I am in QuickSearch.
So the information that will be provided is relevant to how to use QuickSearch, such as adding a field to a search, using the templates to search fields, and so on to find listings in the system.
And again, this is another help option that we can open in a separate tab if you would like to do so. So, I’m gonna close this out. And I will head up now to the video training library and click on here. And this is where you will find all of the most current and relevant previously recorded webinars.
And the webinars that are available in this library are webinars that have been provided for all Flex MLS users. So while we do offer webinars and training for specific MLSs, we also offer general webinars, which is what you are attending today. So if you have any questions on say, QuickSearch, Master the Map, I believe Josh gave this webinar, very well done.
The full CMA, this was offered in late August. And then the three minute CMA. So we do offer different options of different lengths. And these are available to you all at any time. You are welcome to view them as often as you like. Again, you can open this option in a separate tab if you do not want this taking up space on your screen as you’re working. Hit back up to help.
And now I’m going to talk about the Flexmls Academy. This will open in a separate tab automatically. And this is a very helpful resource in the system.
Short tip videos, you can get registered for upcoming webinars. So here is the webinar we are all experiencing at this moment, help options. Scroll down and you can also find previously recorded webinars in this area. So while the video library will also host previously recorded webinars, there will be links to those as well in here.
If you wanted to search for anything specific, maybe we would like to type in CMA and see what populates videos and training material that pertains to the CMA will populate. There’s updates on product news, the recorded trainings, flyers, and then a link that will take you to an external site outside Flexmls for help.
Flexmls dot com, which is the last piece that I’m going to highlight today.
So I’m gonna head back over to my, Flexmls and I am going to click on Flexmls help. And this will also open in a separate tab. And help. Flexmls dot com is a really wonderful resource. This is also updated very frequently with new and relevant content. And this one is a little unique.
While you can find it under help in Flexmls, you can also bookmark this and save this to be able to access this help site no matter if you’re logged into the system or you aren’t. So I would encourage you all, if you’re currently on your laptop or your desktop, to possibly favorite help. Flexmls dot com.
And if you’re on maybe a mobile device, your iPhone, save it. Save it as a resource.
In addition to the resources I mentioned, the guided help, which you do have to be logged into Flexmls to access. And the academy and so on. Those are features that you need to be logged in. But for help. Flexmls dot com, you can be outside the system and it can just be a resource available for you. Information on the quick search, full CMA subscriptions, PLACS MLS systems, system status.
If there’s any issues going on with the system, you would find updates available. And again, this information is updated pretty very frequently as often as there are changes with the system. So, as I mentioned, this is a coffee break webinar. It’s not intended to take up a lot of your time. It’s intended to be brief, but hopefully provide some helpful information and content.

And I just wanna recap where you can find guided help, where you can find a shortcut for guided help, and another shortcut throughout the system, just keep your eyes open for these little icons and you will be able to access guided help whenever you need it.
